Introduction to Hot Press Autoclave
Hot press autoclave is special equipment for composite molding. Under vacuum or non-vacuum conditions, it provides heating and pressurized curing conditions for composite blanks, honeycomb sandwich structures and bonded structures.
It consists of tank body, fan system, pressurization system, exhaust system, vacuum system, heating system, cooling system, feeding system, automatic control system, instrument system, safety system and supporting devices.
Pressurization Principle
A compressor fills air or inert gas into the tank to raise internal pressure. The pressure evenly acts on product surfaces through vacuum bags, so all parts of workpieces cure and form under uniform pressure.
Heating Principle
Heat is generated by heating elements such as stainless steel electric heating tubes. Hot air circulates inside the tank driven by high-temperature fans to realize even heating and accelerate curing reaction of composites.
Vacuum Principle
A vacuum pump evacuates air inside vacuum bags to form vacuum environment. It removes gas and volatiles from composites on one hand; on the other hand, it creates pressure difference against tank pressure to further compact composites and improve product quality.

FLEXIBLE PRESSURIZATION
Workpieces are laid on one side of molds and sealed into vacuum bags. Vacuum pumping inside the bags applies extra pressure on parts to tightly attach workpieces to molds, enabling production of composite components with various shapes.
UNIFORM TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE
Heated or cooled gas circulates at high speed inside the autoclave, maintaining nearly identical gas temperature across all positions. With properly designed molds, temperature differences on components stay minimal during heating and cooling cycles. Special internal air ducts guarantee evenly distributed pressure, allowing workpieces to cure and form under consistent pressure everywhere.
HIGH PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY
The autoclave features large internal capacity. Two or more layers of molds can be loaded in a single batch, and different components can be cured simultaneously. Multiple parts are manufactured at once, shortening production cycles and improving overall efficiency.

STABLE AND RELIABLE PROCESS
The pressure and temperature inside the hot press autoclave are uniform, adjustable and controllable, which helps guarantee stable quality of molded parts and consistent mechanical performance of finished components. Most high-load composite parts used in aerospace adopt the hot press autoclave molding process.
HIGH DEGREE OF AUTOMATION
The product control system adopts stable and fault-resistant control components to ensure system reliability. It supports remote operation, system redundancy and DCS distributed control. Mass data collection is available for data acquisition, storage and comprehensive report generation, facilitating post-process analysis of molding procedures.
